All about me
Hi everyone! My name is Ella, and I wanted to share a little bit about myself and how The Download came to be.
I was born and raised in Atlanta, Georgia, and spent nearly 15 years there before my family moved to a small beach town in South Florida in 2016. After almost a decade here, I’ve been lucky enough to find the people, places, and experiences that have shaped me into the person I am today. I graduated from FAU in December 2024 and have been running my own nannying business full-time for the past few years.
When I’m not working, you’ll most likely find me at the beach, doing yoga, working out at HEW, spending time with my boyfriend and best friends, or just soaking up the outdoors. I also have a huge passion for pottery and art—hopefully, one day, I’ll become a potter.
As for The Download—it was honestly a split-second decision. During the final weeks of the Spring 2022 semester, I was working on assignments for my Marketing class. We used a platform called Packback, where we asked and answered questions based on topics our professor approved. Normally, I do the bare minimum when it comes to writing, just enough to hit the required word count. But this time, something was different. Words were pouring out of me, and before I knew it, I had written way beyond the requirement—without even realizing it.
The difference? I wasn’t writing about the 20th president or a book I was forced to read. I was writing about something I actually cared about—my life.
That night, I closed my laptop and thought, That was a great Download. And just like that, the idea for this blog was born. So here we are—welcome to The Download! If you’re out there reading this, I hope you enjoy or relate in some way.
